    • Ambrose Moses PAYNE was born at Cow Head, District of St. Barbe, Newfoundland April 14, 1849. Ambrose died February 12, 1929 at an unknown location, at age 79. He married Keziah BIGGIN October 31, 1878 at Daniel's Harbour, District of St. Barbe, Newfoundland. Entry No. 93 - These are to certify that Ambrose PAYNE, bachelor, of Parson's Pond, and Keziah BIGGIN, spinster of Daniel's Harbour, N.W. Coast of Newfoundland were married according to the Rite of the Church of England, on this thirty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight. (The said Ambrose PAYNE and Keziah BIGGIN having been previously married by a layman in the absence of the clergyman on the 29th August 1878 according to a custom prevailing on the shore,). By me Joseph J CURLING, Missionary Priest. The above marriage was solemnized between us; his mark X Ambrose PAYNE and Kezia PAYNE (nee) Kezia BIGGIN. In the presence of us; his mark X Cornelius BIGGIN, his mark X Charles BIGGIN, his mark X Thomas SMART.

Married at Parson's Pond according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England, By me Joseph J CURLING. This marriage was solemnized between us: Henry HOUSE & Mary Ann PAYNE. In the presence of us: His mark X Ambrose PAYNE, John HOUSE, her mark X Martha BLANCHARD, his mark X Symeon PAYNE.
