When Robert was age 34 and Mary PAYNE was age 24 they became the parents of Levi PAYNE June 28, 1853 at Bonne Bay, District of St. Barbe, Newfoundland. Born after January 16, 1855 and before January 16, 1856, due to being age 42 years at the time of his death January 16, 1898.

Some people have Robin in is name, but does not belong, it probably a mistake in transcribing the material for Hutchings and Buehler's book «i»Early Settlers on the Southwestern Shore of Newfoundland's Northern Peninsula«/i» came from marriage # 2 in the first marriage register at The Curch of Epiphany at Woody Point, Newfoundland, dated August 9, 1879 between Charles BENOIT and Cecilia PAYNE wher is name is not clearly spelt out where the father is listed. But 6 marriages later it is clearly spelt as Robert as father of Phoebe at her marriage. All other info including his tombstone at Cow Head, Newfoundland lists his name as Robert.

Sarah Singleton was to Wed. Joseph Rendell. Some confusion existshere. In the court records Sarah is noted as being the Brother ofRichard Cross. Several assumptions can be made as to the surnameSingleton.
