    «tab»John, believed to be the youngest of the four brothers, settled at Rocky Harbour, Bonne Bay in the same year that he immigrated to Newfoundland. He later married Emma DECKER and sometime in thelate 1840's or early 1850's he moved his family to Woody Point, further in the Bay. John and his family were probably the first permanent settlers at Woody Poiny.

    John, a fisherman, appears to be the first permanent settler at Woody Point, settling there in the late 1840's or early 1850's from Rocky Harbour after being there in 1835 from England.
