Rachel was born 1859 at Rose Blanche, Newfoundland. Rachel was the daughter of Thomas AYRE and Elizabeth PARSONS. She married «b»Jacob«/b» «b»STICKLAND«/b» November 22, 1882 at Woody Point, Bonne Bay, Disrtict of St. Barbe, Newfoundland. Marriage solemnized in the School Chapel at Woody Point, Bonne Bay, in the Mission of Bay of Islands in the Diocese of Newfoundland, November 22, 1882, Jacob STICKLAND, age 27, bachelor and fisherman of Woody Point, son of John STICKLAND, fisherman and Rachel AYRE, age 23 spinster of Woody Point, daughter of Thomas AYRE, fisherman. Married in the Woody Point School Chapel according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England, By me Charles William HOLLANDS. This marriage was solemnized between us: Jacob STICKLAND & the mark of X Rachel AYRE. In the presence of us: Susanna DICKS, George W WILTON, William J MORGAN, her mark X Fanny TUCKER.
