Enrty No. 100 - These are to certify that Michael EISAN, widower, of Bonne Bay, Newfoundland and Phoebe COOMBES, widow of Heart's Desire, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland, were married according to the Rite of the Church of England, this fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine. By me C. Leonard PAYNE, Clerk in Holy Orders. The above marriage was solemnized between us; his mark X Michael EISAN and her mark X Phoebe COOMBES. In the presence of us; her mark X Selina HISCOCK, her mark X Martha CLARKE, his mark X Noah HISCOCK, his mark X Henry CLARKE, his mark X Adam CLARKE.

    Michael died November 24, 1898 at Curzon Village, Bonne Bay, District of St. Barbe, Newfoundland, at age 65. His body was interred November 26, 1898 at Woody Point, Bonne Bay, Disrtict of St. Barbe, Newfoundland. Tombstone inscription: In Loving Memory of John Michael EISAN who departed this life November 24, 1898, age 65 years. John Michael, a fisherman, was probably the first permanent resident of Crawley's Cove, settling there about 1863. John originally from Ship Harbour, Nova Scotia came to Bonne Bay as a fisherman on a Nova Scotian vessel.

    The EISAN name disappeared from Bonne Bay in the 1930's with the death of Michael's second wife. The name was only carried on through his son Alfred EISAN (1864 - ?? ), who moved to Daniel's Harbour before the turn of the century

    Joseph, a fisherman, arrived in Bonne Bay around the 1840's. He was a native of Exeter in England. He married Sarah DECKER (1827 - 1900) daughter of James DECKER (1800 - 1880) of Rocky Harbour. They settled at a point near the mouth of Bonne Bay, two miles north of Woody Point, which was known as Mudge's Point. The MUDGE's moved to Crawley's Cove sometime in the 1870's or 1880's.
